Girls Tennis competes at District IV doubles

Four members of the Wellsboro Girls Tennis team competed at District IV doulbes on Monday, October 20 at Williamsport High School.

The team of Bailey Corse and Maddy Clemens won their preliminary match against Muncy #2 10-8 to advance to the first round. They then fell to Bloomsburg #1 1-6, 0-6. The team of Raisa Rogers and Shyann Foreman also lost in the first round to South Williamsport #1 1-6, 2-6.

"All the girls played well today against some strong competition," said head coach Jill Gastrock. "Many games went to deuce and they were all pleased with how they played together. I'm very proud of the girls for continuing to play hard through the last point today. They peaked for district play and are ready to return strong next year."
