The Wellsboro Middle School Volleyball team recorded a 2-0 win over Athens on Monday, September 14.
The A Team took the match in two sets winning 25-6 and 25-6. Eighth graders Ryann Adams, Morgan Stone, and Caitlin Callahan lead the Lady Hornets in serving, with Caitlin Callahan serving 15 serves in a row, helping the hornets take a tremendous lead over the Wildcats.
Cathryn Brought set her hitters up nicely with 7 sets for the night, allowing Caitlin Callahan 3 spikes and 1 kill. Adams was the team leader with passes to the setter, a major contributor to the team success.
The B Team followed suit winning over Athens 25-17 and 25-9. Ella Brill and Chelsey English led the team in serves.
"For the first match of the season, I am very pleased with the movement of the girls on the court, communication, and the hard work they exhibited," said head coach Jen Outman.
The Lady Hornets start the season at 1-0 and will be back in action on Wednesday, September 16 on the road in Troy.
