Troy sweeps Wellsboro in District quarters

The Wellsboro Volleyball team's season came to an end in the quarterfinals of the District IV Class AA playoffs on Saturday, October 29.

Troy took the first set 25-20 and edged the Lady Hornets 25-23 in the second before taking the third 25-16 to end the Lady Hornets' season and advance to the semi-finals. Troy will now play North Penn-Liberty on Tuesday, November 1 at Williamson High School.

Senior Kirsten Florio led the team with 18 kills, 6 blocks and 4 points in her final game. Senior Morgan Florio had 9 kills, 7 digs and 4 points, junior Brianne Keane had 26 assists and 8 points, and junior Sydney Tremper had 7 digs. Juniors Jillian Graver and Cheyenne Sherman each recorded 3 kills on the night.

The loss ends the Lady Hornets' season at 12-10.
