Hornet wrestlers fall to NEB

The Wellsboro Varsity Wrestling team lost 55-12 to Northeast Bradford on Thursday, January 26.

Wellsboro won two matches on the evening. Senior Kaleb Smith won a forfeit at 220 lbs. and sophomore Jared Moreno won his 11th match of the season by pinning Dale Brown in 1:12 at 152 lbs.

NEB won forfeits at 126, 132, 145, 160, 170, 182, and 106. NEB's Casey Ellis pinned freshman Connor Ramsey in 1:44 at 138 lbs., Dawson Brown won an 8-2 decision over sophomore Hunter Brown at 195 lbs., and Owen Maryot won a 12-3 major decision over sophomore Robert Brown at 285 lbs.

The loss drops the Hornets to 4-17 (1-8 NTL). The team will be back in action on Thursday, February 9 against Williamson and Sugar Valley Rural Charter for Senior Night.
