Lady Hornets sweep Wyalusing

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team racked up their 5th straight win with a 3-0 sweep over Wyalusing on Thursday, October 11.

The Lady Hornets took the first set 25-20, won the second 25-15, and won the third 25-18 for the sweep. Wellsboro's JV team also won on the evening, beating Wyalusing 2-1 (14-25, 25-16, 15-11).

Junior Caitlyn Callahan led the team with 22 kills, junior Ryann Adams had 17 digs and 9 points (1 ace), sophomore Breighanna Kemp recorded 15 assists, and junior Megan Starkweather had 13 assists, 9 points, 3 aces, and a block. Sophomore Bailey Monks had 7 kills and 5 blocks, senior Heidi Zuchowski had 11 digs, 9 points, and 5 kills.

The win improves the Lady Hornets' record to 13-1 (9-1 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action on Monday, October 15 at home with Coudersport for Senior Night.
