Wellsboro grapplers pick up first win of season

The Wellsboro Wrestling team picked up their first win of the season by defeating Sayre 36-22 on Thursday, January 4.

Freshman Brock Hamblin (106), freshman Andre Rinebold (132), junior Michael McNair (145), and freshman Kyle Manogue (220) scored forfeits.

Junior Trevor Weaver (126) pinned Robert Benjamin in 2:36 and junior Robert Brown pinned Dominic Red in 4:35 at 285 lbs.

Sayre scored wins at 120, 138, 152, and 160.

The win improves the Hornets' record to 1-3 (1-2 NTL). The team will be back in action on Tuesday, January 9 againts Northeast Bradford.
