Hornets finish 2nd at Towanda

The Wellsboro Varsity Golf Team scored a 2nd place finish at Towanda Country Club on Tuesday, August 31.

The Hornets shot a round of 395, 25 strokes off the pace set by 1st place finisher Wyalusing (370). Athens (404) was 3rd, Towanda (448) was 4th, Cowanesque Valley (454) was 5th, and North Penn-Mansfield rounded out the field with a score of 502. Sayre did not register a team score.

Sophomore Hayden Zuchowski led the Hornets as he tied for 6th with a round of 93. Blake Hamblin finished tied for 11th with a score of 97, sophomore Hannalee Cleveland finished with a 102, junior Andrew Merriman and Reece Servatius both shot rounds of 103, and junior Sam Rudy shot a 107.

Wellsboro moves to 8-3 overall (8-3 NTL) following their 2nd place finish. The team will be back in action on September 7 at Corey Creek Country Club in Mansfield.
