The NTL coaches have announced their football all-stars for the season.
HERSHEY - Fourteen straight weeks Lewisburg found ways to win games, so when Merle Moscarello returned a fumble 11 yards in the fourth quarter Saturday for a touchdown there was no reason to believe that streak wouldn't reach 15.
HERSHEY - The current Lewisburg football players grew up watching one Green Dragon team after another suffer losing seasons.
DANVILLE - Moments after cornerback Jared Laino made the biggest interception in Lewisburg history, two-way senior starter Sean Charest raced onto the field, prepared to line up in the victory formation and raised two fingers, signifying the Green Dragons were No. 1
LEWISBURG - Once again in 2010, the Towanda Black Knights were not destined to be Dragonslayers. Just like one year ago, an undefeated Towanda team saw its hopes of a District 4, Class AA football title shattered by the Lewisburg Green Dragons. This time the occasion was the semifinal round and the site was Bucknell's Christy Mathewson Stadium, and the final score was 39-14.
Behind 213 passing yards from Andy Andreychik, Danville held off Mt. Carmel 38-28 to advance to the District Four final.
Southern Columbia captured another District Four, Class A title as they blew out Line Mountain, 48-13.
Below are the seedings for the second week of the 2010 District 4 Playoffs.
TOWANDA - The Towanda Knights took on the Hughesville Spartans and took them down to the tune of 56-21.
BLOSSBURG - When a game finishes 45-14, it may appear to be a blowout, but in Mt. Carmel's win over North Penn there was a moment that will keep the Panther side wondering 'what if.' That being said, Mt. Carmel took full advantage and never looked back.
DANVILLE - For the first 22 minutes of Friday night's District 4, Class AA quarterfinal game, the eight-seeded Wyalusing Rams played the undefeated, top-seeded Danville Ironmen on even terms, 14-14. Then the Ironmen struck for two touchdowns in the last two minutes of the first half and the Rams could never recover, going down to defeat 62-20 to a Danville team which showed the ability to score at any time from any place on the field.
CATAWISSA, R.D. - There are two glaring misconceptions dealing with Friday night's District 4 Class A matchup at Tigers Stadium that need to be addressed.
Lewisburg held off Bloomsburg 21-20 to host Towanda in the second round of district play.
Below are the seedings for the first week of the 2010 District 4 Playoffs. All games will be played on Friday, November 12.
