Athens 2nd at JarvisATHENS - The Athens wrestling team brought home a second-place finish at the Jarvis Memorial Tournament on Saturday with a score of 166 points.

Chestnut Ridge won at 227, with Falconer, N.Y. third, Johnson City, N.Y. fourth and Massabesic out of Maine in fifth. Sayre was 13th with 13 points.

At 106 pounds Athens' Chris Horton was second, falling in the final by fall to Drew Schaffer of Pal-Mac in 1:12. Horton was 4-1 on the day.

At 113 Aaron Burkett of Chestnut Ridge won the title.

Athens' Brock Horton won the crown at 120, beating Wayne Smith of Wyoming Valley West 3-1 in the final.

Athens Kaiden Rude was 1-4 on the day at 126 pounds, with Dane Herberlain of Alexander, N.Y. winning the weight class.

The Wildcats' Brian Courtney won the title at 132, going 5-0 on the day. Sayre's Zane Patenode was 0-4 at the weight.

Kaidon Winters of Athens was third at 138, going 3-2 on the day with Justin McCoy of Chestnut Ridge winning the title at the weight.

Sayre's Gavin Lundy-McCutcheon was 2-3 on the day and Gage Cannavino was 4-1 at 145 pounds. Dylan Ingrao of Falconer won the weight class.

Sayre's Damon Whipple was 1-4 at 152 and Morgan Deremer of Chestnut Ridge won the weight.

Athens' Zach Sheppeck was second at 160 with a 4-1 mark and Jon Lagoski of Wyoming Valley West won 11-0 by major decision over Sheppeck for the title. Sayre's Matt Ingrassia was 2-2 at the weight.

Matt Geiser of Alexander won the title at 170.

At 189 Gab Sporn of Athens was 3-2 and Sayre's Matt Eberlain was 0-4 with Jacob Peru of Falconer winning the weight.

Athens' Jordan Alliger was 2-2 on the day at 195 with Conner Buttry of Chestnut Ridge winning the weight.

Athens' Roger Horton won the title at 220 going 5-0 on the day and Sayre's Marshall Felt was 1-4 at the weight.

Athens' Mitch Orshal was 1-3 on the day at 285 and Zach Gifford of Deposit Hancock won the weight.
