Athens' Jennings is All-Region baseball POY.

Athens' Jennings is All-Region baseball POYCody Jennings of Athens had a year to remember.

The senior hit for over .500 and was one of the top pitchers in the area, going 6-0 with a 1.07 ERA.

He didn't just put up stats, either. Jennings led the Wildcats to their fourth straight league title and won an elusive District IV title.

He also gets one more honor — The Daily and Sunday Review All-Region baseball Player of the Year.

The Valley took home quite a few All-Region awards.

Waverly's Brady Roney is the Pitcher of the Year while Hunter Bodine is the Co-Newcomer. Roney went 6-0 with an 0.84 ERA.

Fellow district champions Sayre had two as well — Silver Slugger Nate Sweet and Quinn Hanafin, Co-Newcomer. Sweet hit .449 with 20-RBI while Hanafin hit 4.64 with 27-RBI.

Tioga's Parker Hendershot earned the Most Versatile Award for his combination of hitting, defense and pitching while North Penn-Mansfield's Kipp Hillson is the Defensive Player of the Year.

Hendershot hit .645, good enough for ninth all-time in the state of New York, along with eight triples and 45-RBI.

Rounding out the major awards is Wellsboro coach Philip Prough as the Coach of the Year. Prough led the Hornets to their first District IV title.

The first team consists of Jennings, Sweet, Parker Hendershot, Wellsboro's Dalton Prough, Sayre's Connor Hanafin, Hillson, Troy's Tyler Williams, Williamson's Chase Austin, NP-Mansfield's Carl Dinger, Athens' Cory Stivason, Tioga's Pierce Hendershot, Waverly's Brandyn Stillman, Roney and Bodine and Notre Dame's Gary Raupers.

On the second team is Canton's Brendon Landis, Wellsboro's Johnny Rowland, Troy's Matt LaBadie, NEB's Nate Watkins, NP-Mansfield's JP Shaw, Athens' Matt Collins, Towanda's Lars Thomason, CV's Caleb Fitzwater, Tioga's Tyler Whitmore and Damon Rockwell, Waverly's Dylan Cooney and Eithan McEnulty, Notre Dame's Nate Snavely and Ben Cook and Sullivan County's Jake Doyle.

On the third team is Wyalusing's Holdan Hitchcock, CV's Kurtis Easton, Sayre's Sam Wheeler, Athens' Daniel Joyce, Wellsboro's Carson Davis, Sayre's Matt Williams, NP-Mansfield's Dylan Williamson, Quinn Hanafin, Williamson's Colin Heilbrun, Towanda's Ryan Bartholomew, Tioga's Gabe Martin and Mitchell Taylor, Waverly's Nate Bennett and Tyler Croft, NP-Mansfield's Logan Adams, Notre Dame's Erik Charnetski and Sullivan County's Brian Lewis and Taylor Baldwin.

On the All-Rookie team is Roney, Quinn Hanafin, Bodine, CV's Owen Fitzwater, Williamson's Brock Sackett, Tioga's Justin Rockwell, NEB's Ian Wilbur and Clayton Connor, Davis, Wellsboro's Billy Lechler, Troy's Anthony Deitrick and Mason Bellows, Canton's Byron Marnati and CV's Seth Huyler.

The gold glove winners are Dalton Prough (SS), Hillson (1B), Parker Hendershot (3B), Landis (2B), Towanda's Keegan Kisner (OF), NEB's Garret Smith (OF), Notre Dame's Iman McKay (OF), Sweet (C) and LaBadie (P).
