The Wellsboro Green Hornets picked up a big NTL win on Tuesday, beating previously unbeaten in the NTL Sayre, 4-3.

Wellsboro's Silas Wagaman and Dalton Prough started the six inning with a single each to put them on first and third. With the score tied, 3-3, Cam Tennis bunted to move Prough to second base.

After intentionally walking Billy Lechler, Carson Davis hit a sacrifice fly deep enough for what would prove to be the game-winning run for Wellsboro.

For Wellsboro, Lechler had two hits and an RBI, Caleb Tennis finished with two hits and a RBI, Wagaman had two hits and Prough, Brent English and Johnny Rowland each had one hit.

Rowland threw a complete game for Wellsboro, striking out five.

For Sayre, Quinn Hanafin had two hits, including a double; Nate Sweet and Connor Hanafin each finished with two hits; and Jordan Rockwell and Chris Ray each had one hit.

Jordan Rockwell threw a complete game for Sayre, striking out one batter.

"We have been playing in spurts and we are a young team," Wellsboro coach Philip Prough said. "The key for us is not getting too low and not getting too high. We have played some good teams for good stretches of the game though and we just seem to collapse in one inning and today it didn't happen, we were able to put together a complete game, granted it was with help of one of their better players, Matt Williams, hurt but still, Rockwell is a good pitcher. It helps to not walk people and not have an error. It was refreshing to have a 4-3 game to be a part of."
