Towanda sweeps Wellsboro.

Towanda took home two NTL wins over Wellsboro Monday.

They won the first match 5-2, taking four of the five singles match.

At first singles, Towanda's Matt McNeal won 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 over Nate Redell; at second singles, Knight Ryan Risch beat Noah Fitch 6-3, 6-2; at third singles, Demetrius Hill won over Kyle Reese 6-0, 6-1; and, at fifth singles, Noah Poll topped Logan Morral 6-2, 6-0.

Wellsboro's Tanner Runyan won at third singles over Towanda's Jonathan Hoffman 6-0, 6-3.

At first doubles, Wellsboro's duo of Runyan and Ryan Stough won 6-0, 6-0 over Towanda's David Boardman and Poll.

At second doubles, the Knight duo of Dalton Carey and Chris Buckley topped Luke Leach and Alan Hazelton 7-6, (10-8), 6-4.

In exhibition action, Wellsboro's twosome of Zach Lundgren and Aaron Quimby beat Towanda's team of Damien Tavani and Django Yrigollen 6-0.

The Black Knights won the second match 5-2 as well.

They won three of the five singles matches: McNeal over Redell 6-2, 6-3 at first singles; Risch over Runyan 6-0, 6-1 at second singles; and Poll over Adam Cornell 6-4, 6-2 at fifth singles.

Fitch beat Hill 6-3, 6-4 at third singles while Stough defeated Hoffman 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles.

The Black Knights swept the doubles as Risch and Hill topped Runyan and Stough 6-4, 6-4 at first doubles, while Buckley and Carey beat Reese and Lundgren 4-6, 6-0, 6-0 at second doubles.

Galeton 7, North Penn-Liberty 0

The Tigers earned a boys' tennis win Monday to improve to 4-0 on the year.

At first singles, Eli Trimbur won over Jonathan Nelson 6-0, 6-0; at second singles, David Rigas beat Zach Fetzer 6-0, 6-0; at third singles, Cooper Sunderlin topped Zach Roupp 6-0, 6-0; at fourth singles, Evan Griffen beat Don Edwards 6-0, 6-0; and, at fifth singles, James Quinn won over Dave Maslar 6-0, 6-0.

At first doubles, Galeton's Quinn and Joel Brelo edged out Nelson and Fetzer 7-6 (7-2), 6-1, while at second doubles Trevor Olney and Kyle Burrous beat Issac Weaver and Roupp 6-1, 6-1.

NP-Liberty falls to 1-3 on the year.

Notre Dame 7, Trumansburg 0

The Crusaders stayed unbeaten in IAC tennis action Monday.

At first singles, Jack Kaffenbarger beat Maybeck McCann 6-2, 6-1 while at second singles Derek Tsang won over Andrew Stewart 7-5, 6-1.

At third singles Aiden Sharma topped Mitchell Denman 6-0, 6-0 and at fourth singles Nick Steed beat Jared Everhart 6-2, 6-1.

At first doubles Declan Sharma and Mitch Vargas won over Max Moses and Tyler Romer 6-0, 6-0, at second doubles Pat Finnerty and Victor Tsang beat Jonas Puryear and Nik Dimarco 7-5, 6-1 and at third doubles Aaron Yang and John Booth won over Ryan Fields and Caeyn Hoeng 6-3, 6-2.

Edison 4, Waverly 3

The Wolverines fell in IAC tennis action Monday.

Waverly's Hunter Heath won at first singles over Zach Root 6-0, 6-1, but the Spartans took the next three singles spots.

Hunter Farley beat Josh Gallaher 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) at second singles, Anthony Forte beat Brenton Frisbie 6-2, 6-2 at third singles and Cody Crown won over Jose Garcia 6-1, 6-1 at fourth singles.

Waverly's duo of Tiffany Czebiniak and Ramon Garcia beat Keith Beach and Mike Kowulich 7-6 (7-3), 2-6, 6-4 at first doubles.

At second doubles Edison's team of Samantha Goodwin and Olivia Thresher won over Sunshyne Lynch and Haley Onofre 7-5, 6-3.

And at third doubles Waverly's Seth Lloyd and Tyler Brooks beat Alex Alverson and Josh Anderson-Miller 6-1, 6-2.
