Troy edges Williamson, 3-2.

TIOGA JUNCTION — Troy edged Williamson 3-2 in the opening round of the District IV, Class AA volleyball playoffs Saturday.

The Warriors won the first game 25-20, with Troy taking the next two 25-23 and 25-17.

Williamson stayed alive with a 25-11 win in the fourth set, but Troy took it 15-10 to advance in the fifth.

Caitlyn Hoffmann had 13 points, one ace, one kill, one block and five digs, while Breana Millard had nine points, two aces and seven kills.

Also for Troy, Cassie Shedden had nine points, two aces, nine assists, 14 kills, one block and 25 digs; Emilie Cole had eight points, 14 kills, two blocks and 10 digs; Caitlin DeLosa had three points, five kills and 14 digs; Savannah Sakosky had three points and 23 digs; Gabby Bohner had three points, two aces and six digs; Mallori Morse had two points, six digs and five assists; and Autumn Gilbert had two kills and five digs.

Troy will face North Penn-Liberty in Tuesday’s semi-final back at Williamson.
