Wyalusing defeats Athens, 3-1.

The Wyalusing volleyball squad defeated Athens, 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-19, 25-10) on Wednesday.

For the Rams, Karlye Huffman had 33 assists and three aces, Shelby Vitamvas finished with one kill, Daphne Fassett added two kills and three aces, Kendall Krewson had six aces, Kristie Epler finished with three aces and 15 digs, Melody Kneller had 16 kills and two aces, Makayla Voda had four kills, Lylah Oswald added 12 kills and three aces and Madison Hebda had three aces.

For Athens, Jocelyn Burns had two kills and 15 digs, Ameilia Martin added 11 points, 20 assists and five digs, Sydney Liechty finished with five points, eight kills and three blocks, Meghan McDuffee had six points, five kills, one block and four digs, Cassidy Stackpole had one kill and two digs, Ashtyn Allen added one point and three digs, Elly Shaff finished with two kills, Leah Liechty had one kill and Donna Cordona finished with five points.

Athens won the JV match, 2-0 (25-19, 25-20).

For Wyalusing, Imogen Herbert had one kill and three assists, Haley McGroaty added six kills, Madison Putnam finished with four kills, Katie Meeh had five assists and Ashley Kipp had three kills.

For Athens, Lauren Nevil had two points and Kylie Jayne had five.
