Towanda tennis ends regular season with win.

Towanda tennis finishes the season with a record of 9-6 after defeating Galeton 6-1 in the final match of their regular season.

In first singles, Ryan Risch defeated Joel Brelo in two sets by a score of 6-4 and 6-2. Demetrius Hill beat Kyle Burres 6-2 and 6-1. In the final singles match that was played, Noah Poll beat Tanner Hall 6-0 in both of the two sets they played. Towanda claimed victory in fourth and fifth singles due to forfeit.

Galeton's lone win came in first doubles as Joel Brelo and Kyle Burres defeated Jonathon Hoffman and Django Yrigollen in two sets, 6-1 and 6-3. Towanda also tallied another win in second doubles due to a Galeton forfeit.

Towanda coach, Leo Harris had very kind words for his squad after the match stating, "I'm proud of our team and the season we put together, qualifying for district play for the third consecutive year. We finished the regular season with a 9-6 record and look forward to next week's team tournament."

Notre Dame 7, Newark Valley 0

Notre Dame tennis moves to 7-0 on the season after their 7-0 win against Newark Valley, in which they did not drop a set.

In first singles, Derek Tsang defeated Lindsey Diego 6-0 in both of the sets they played. In the second singles match, Mitch Vargas beat Ashley Marsh in two sets, 6-0 and 6-2 were the scores. In third singles, Victor Tsang beat Colby Davis by a score of 6-0 and 6-2. In the final singles match, Yoseph Tavakoli defeated Natalie Shofkom 6-1 in each of the two sets played.

The doubles matches were played in a singles set format, the winner was the first to eight. In first doubles, Andrew Finnerty and Brandon Sun beat Noah Shiel and Mackenna Nechwedowich 8-6. In second doubles, Zack Zhou and Zack Tavakoli beat Emily Squires and Kelsey Kerns 8-3, and in the final doubles match, Peyton Mallow and Eshwar Venkataswamy defeated Megan Felicetti and Cymbri Jefferson 8-3.

Notre Dame will continue their season Friday at Waverly.
