Troy baseball tops NEB.

EAST TROY — Troy baseball opened their season with a win, rallying to beat Northeast Bradford 15-6 in a wild weather game, featuring snow and high winds.

The Trojans took an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning. The Panthers scored five of their own, erasing the deficit and adding a two run cushion in the second inning over the Trojans. Both teams scored one more run before Troy scored 11 unanswered in the fourth and fifth innings to end the game in the sixth inning.

Troy's Brandon Zechman led the way, going 3-3 with four RBI and a run scored. Tyler Williams went 2-4, grabbing two singles, two RBI, and three runs scored. Nate Martin had a double, and two RBI, while William Dibble had a hit and one RBI. Clark Jackson and Bailey Cohick each chipped in with a hit.

Ja Wallace scored three runs for Troy and Nick Call scored a run. Michael Borden scored two runs and had an RBI.

For Northeast, Nick Beers, Tyler Devonshire and Clayton Connor recorded hits for the Panthers.

Ian Wilbur scored two runs and Braeden Frisbie, Lucas Crown, Beers and Connor all scored runs in the game. Devonshire added an RBI and Beers had an RBI and a run scored, while Connor scored a run.

Hunter Kendall and Mason Bellows threw from the mound for Troy. Bellows struck out six batters on 72 pitches and Kendall threw 17 pitches.

The Panthers checked five pitchers into the game. Nicholas Vrabel had three strikeouts on 41 pitches, and Tyler Devonshire had a strikeout on 36 pitches. Ian Wilbur, Braeden Frisbie, and Tyler Emick each had appearances on the mound for Northeast.
