Troy avenged an early season loss by beating North Penn-Mansfield 62-47 in NTL Division-I boys' basketball action Wednesday.

"Five playing as one" is how Trojan coach Steve Renzi characterized the win.

Down 14-7 after the first quarter Troy put together a 30-7 run in the second behind some hot shooting as they hit five three-pointers, four of them by Seldon Rogers, who had 14 points in the quarter.

The Trojans held them at bay in the second half to get the win.

Rogers and Clark Jackson both had 22 points to lead Troy. Rogers added five boards, five steals and three assists while Jackson had five assists, four steals and four rebounds.

Nate Martin added 10 points, seven boards and three assists and Ja Wallace had eight points and nine boards.

Dylan Meyer had 15 points to lead NP-Mansfield, seven of them in the first quarter to get the Tigers off to that fast start, to go with 10 rebounds for the double-double.

Brent Burleigh added 12, Nick Kasper netted eight to go with three steals and seven rebounds, Garrett David scored seven and grabbed nine boards, Sawyer Freeman had three and Jayden Andrews scored two but swiped nine steals.

Sullivan County 53, St. John Neumann 50

A 16-10 third quarter run was enough to give the Griffins a Mid-Penn League boys' basketball win Wednesday.

This is Neumann's first loss in league play.

Sullivan found themselves down 15-14 after the first quarter but it was Sullivan who took a 27-26 halftime lead.

They increased that to 43-36 going into the fourth quarter. In the final frame Neumann held Sullivan to 10 points but couldn't get over the hump.

John Saxe had 18 points and four steals for the Griffins while Dylan Hottenstein added 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Justin Metzger netted 10 points, Alex Baumunk had five points and four rebounds while Jesse Williams and Jalen Thomas scored four points each.

Neumann had three players with 12 points.

Sullivan lost the JV game 42-31 as Thomas had eight points. They travel to Bucktail on Saturday.

Waverly 51, Newfield 48

The Wolverines used a big first half effort to pick up the IAC boys' basketball win Wednesday.

"It's a great win," said Waverly coach Lou Judson. "We only have a two-game lead over Notre Dame with four games remaining. We've got to at least win three of them. I knew it was going to be a tough game — they are the number five team in the state in Class D. It's a great accomplishment; Newfield was down a man tonight but they play extremely well and they gave us everything we could handle.

Gavin Judson had 21 points, six boards and five assists to lead Waverly while Scott Woodring had 11 points to go with eight boards and two blocks.

Jason Jequinto added 11 points, Matt VanHouten had six points and Dylan Ward scored two points with six rebounds.
