A couple of names were late additions to the All-State softball team on Wednesday.

After the original release of the list, a pair of Northeast Bradford players were added as Lindsay Moore was added as a second-team pick as a designated player, and Jordan Shumway was a second-team all-state pick as an outfielder.

"It is very special for me to get all state because I have never had such a good and exciting year," Shumway said. "Many coaches came up to me and told me how much I improved and it boosted my confidence levels so much. It is exciting to happen this early in my career (as a sophomore) because I feel it gives me a chance to keep working and maybe show my place for later when colleges are scouting."

For Shumway seeing Moore also honored was special.

"I think it was great to have another teammate of mine with me because we have a great bond and we are always improving, working harder and harder and never giving up," Shumway said. "This past year has given me lots of confidence for my upcoming seasons and reaching the all-state has made it even more reachable in becoming a better athlete and person."

For Moore, it's special to earn all-state honors.

"It means a lot to me that I made all-state," Moore said. "I'm excited to see that I have gotten some recognition for my hard work. This is definitely a boost for my confidence. I never thought that I'd be in the position that I was, but I'm extremely proud to say that I could do my job in those situations."

Moore is happy to see Shumway honored to.

"I'm happy to see that Jordan could have the same experience that I did and that she gets to have the same feelings that I have from this accomplishment," Moore said. "Next year I will know to come out strong and to use the confidence that I gained from this year."
