Wellsboro boys down Athens.

ATHENS — Wellsboro held Athens to just 26 first-half points as they pulled away for an 81-47 win over the Wildcats in NTL Division-I boys' basketball action Tuesday.

Hornet Brandyn Tuttle had 16 points and 10 boards for a double-double to go with four steals while teammate Collin Pietropola had 21 points, 17 of them in the first half, to go with eight rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Dalton Prough had 14 points, four boards, seven assists, three blocks and five steals; Quinn Henry had 14 points and two assists; Tanner Button and Nic Ingerick each had five points; Andrew Brelo netted four points; while Joseph Grab rounded out the scoring with two.

Gavin Stein had 12 points to lead Athens while Aaron Lane added 11. Aric Westbrook netted eight, Ethan Lane had seven, Keegan Rude scored three, while Damian Hudson, Brady Smith and Mateo Baglini each had two points.

Athens won the JV game 52-35 as Hudson had 21 and Grab netted 14.

Wyalusing 50, Sayre 40

The Rams jumped out to a 25-15 halftime lead en route to an NTL Division-II boys' basketball win Tuesday.

Sayre played them even in the second half, but couldn't get over the hump.

Jon Morrison had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead Wyalusing. He earned his 500th career rebound in the win.

Chandler Brown had 13 points and five assists while Will Martin netted seven with nine boards. Kasar Cameron added four points and six rebounds, Calvin Burke notched three while Eli Bennett added two.

Ryan Murrelle had 12 points and four boards for the Redskins while Jordan Rockwell had 12 points and four assists.

James Esposito had six points; Gage Carnrike added five points, eight boards and four assists; Corbin Brown had three points; and Jakeb Ressler added two points and seven rebounds.

Canton 61, Northeast Bradford 51

Canton got 23 points from Michael Smithers as they picked up the NTL Division-II boys' basketball win Tuesday. The Warriors led 20-12 after the first quarter, but NEB cut it to a 33-32 deficit at the half. In the third quarter, the Panthers took a one-point lead, but were out scored 18-7 in the final frame.

Zach Rentzel added 15 points for Canton while Camden Route scored 13. Jacob Aumick netted six while Silas Binford and Zach Davy had two points a piece.

Andy Crown had 15 points to lead the Panthers while Zak Smith had 12 points and three assists.

Clayton Connor added 11 points, Chazz Labarre netted nine, Nick Marino scored three while Nick Shaffer had one point.

NEB won the JV game 28-21 as Will Ostrander had seven points. Zach Moore had 11 points for Canton.

Troy 72, Williamson 41

The Trojans broke a four-game losing streak as they picked up the NTL Division-I boys' basketball win Tuesday.

Clark Jackson nearly had a triple-double with 24 points, 10 assists and eight boards to lead the Trojans while Nate Martin had 10 points, six steals and six rebounds.

Ja Wallace added eight points, 10 steals, six assists and six boards; Seldon Rogers had eight points and six rebounds; while Dom Ayers netted seven points.

Jake Deitrick added six points, Corey Davis notched three while Robert Rogers and Nat Graybill had two points apiece.

Tanner Adriance had a career high 19 points, including five threes, to lead the Warriors while Simon Fish netted 13 points. Carter Strange had five points, while Tristan Templeman and Andrew Hackett had two points each.

Tioga 68, Notre Dame 46

The Tigers held the Crusaders to just 30 points through three quarters as they picked up an IAC boys' basketball win Tuesday.

Demario Chambers led four Tioga players in double figures with 15 points while Connor Hutchinson had 13 points and Nick Klossner and Pierce Hendershot each had 12 points.

Scott Siberski netted eight, Sam Taylor and Lucas Klossner each had three points while Derrick Barto added two points.

Gary Raupers had 16 points to lead Notre Dame while Kyreese Fisher and Ben Cook each had eight points. Brody Nemier and Dan Stearns netted six points apiece while Cole Clark scored two points.

Notre Dame won the JV game 44-34.

The Crusaders host Marathon Thursday.

North Penn-Mansfield 72, Towanda 43

Dylan Meyer had a double-double of 16 points and 13 boards to lead the Tigers to the NTL Division-I boys' basketball win Tuesday.

Nick Kasper added 15 points with five steals and five assists; Brent Burleigh had eight points with six boards and four assists; Garrett David had eight points, five boards and four steals; Jacob Green netted eight points; Jayden Andrews had five points and two steals; Logan Tokarz had three points; while Kamren Manikowski and Brion Smith had two points apiece. Smith also had nine boards.

Luke Tama had 13 points and four steals to lead Towanda while Dalton Potter scored 12 points and Quadir Brice notched 10 points.

Bob Farley had three points, Sean Campbell netted two points and Lars Thomason scored one point. Damien Thurston chipped in with five boards.

North Penn-Liberty 45, Cowanesque Valley 38

The Mountaineers outscored CV 15-7 in the fourth quarter to pull out the NTL Division-II boys' basketball victory Tuesday. It was tied 20-20 at the half with the Indians taking a 31-30 lead after three quarters.

Brandyn Choplosky had 17 points to lead NP-Liberty while Noah Spencer added nine points. Duncan Zeafla added six, Issac Way netted five while Micah Kolb and Logan Horsley each had four.

Christian Kemp and Skyler Vinluan had eight points apiece for CV while Tyler Vargeson netted seven. Seth Huyler scored six, Daniel Freeman added five while Kurtis Easton and Jack Stone had two points each.

Liberty won the JV game as well.

Sullivan County 75, Bucktail 31

Jon Saxe had 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting along with six assists as the Griffins picked up the Mid-Penn League boys' basketball win Tuesday.

Alex Baumunk added 12 points, seven boards, four steals and five assists while Dylan Hottenstein had 12 points, four steals and five assists.

Jesse Williams had 10 points on 5-for-7 shooting, Will Kiner netted eight points, Trace Neary scored six, Omar Rubio and Justin Metzger had four points apiece while Jalen Thomas and Dave Pardoe had two points each.

Sullivan won the JV game 58-25 as Neary had 15 points.

The Griffins are at CMVT Friday.

Waverly 61, SVE 50

A 19-10 fourth quarter in favor of Waverly helped them pull out an IAC road win in boys' basketball action Tuesday.

Waverly led 30-23 at the half, but SVE cut it to 42-40 after three quarters before the Wolverines' big fourth.

Jason Jequinto had 18 points, eight boards and six assists to lead Waverly, while Gavin Judson added 16 points. Matt VanHouten had 10 points and 10 boards for a double-double, Scott Woodring had six points and three steals, Eithan McEnulty had six points while Dylan Ward netted five.
