WYALUSING — Wyalusing won 10 of 14 matches to defeat Athens 51-17 in NTL wrestling action Tuesday.

In the three big match-ups, Wyalusing went 2-1.

At 138, Ram Lukas Yonkin-O'Connor edged Athens' A.J. Burkhart 6-2 thanks to a late reversal and back points in the third period. At 160, Creighton Edsell scored a 6-2 win over David Galasso.

"It was a great match for Luke," said Wyalusing coach Mike Earle. "Burkhart is a very good wrestler."

Athens' Nathaniel Bradley scored a 7-4 decision over Wyalusing's Ed Mapes at 170.

Picking up forfeits for Wyalusing were Jackson Chilson (220), Darren Schum (113), Logan Newton (120), Zachary Shaffer (132) and Mike Wilcox (195).

Joseph Doss (152) pinned Zach Stafursky in 1:15 while Clayton Franko won 5-2 over Jon Vough.

For the Wildcats, Bailey Poarch (106) pinned Elijah Yoder in 29 seconds, while at 126, Chris Horton scored a 19-2 technical fall over Michael Bonhamer in 3:28.

Devin Sweat (145) won 14-10 over Dylan Whipple as well.

Earle liked seeing his wrestlers tested Tuesday.

"It was a good battle," he remarked. "We had a couple nice individual battles today, that was good for us."

Northeast Bradford 60, Wellsboro 6

The Panthers picked up an NTL wrestling win Tuesday.

Destin Moore (132), Aaron Boss (152), Silas Miller (160), Tyler Devonshire (170), Noah Forbes (182), Owen Maryott (285) and Kregory Johnson (120) all got forfeits for NEB.

Dusty Cook (138) pinned Connor Ramsey in 1:57, Dale Brown (145) pinned Mikey McNair in 1:28 and Dawson Brown (220) pinned Kyle Manogue in 3:37 for their other bouts.

Wellsboro's Brock Hamblin (106) scored a forfeit for the Hornets' only points.

There were no matches at 195, 113 and 126.
