Coaching Bio

Coach Sweet is in his second stint with the Hornets as the wide receivers and linebackers coach. Coach Sweet returned to coach at Wellsboro as a volunteer assistant in 2018 and previously coached for the Hornets as an Offensive Line coach and Defensive Assistant during the 2004 and 2005 seasons.

Coach Sweet was a member of the Hornets from 1993-1997 where he was a guard and middle linebacker. Coach Sweet was a team captain, NTL All-Star and was also selected to the All-Twin Tiers team.

After high school Coach Sweet attended Lycoming College from 1997-2001 to play football while studying Biology and Criminal Justice. Coach Sweet was a middle linebacker for the Warriors and played on special teams while helping to team to a 34-2 record. During Coach Sweet's time at Lycoming, the Warriors were four-time MAC Conference Champions, made the NCAA Division III playoffs for three years, and also made an appearance in the Stagg Bowl.

Coach Sweet currently resides with his family in Wellsboro and is a detective with the Pennsylvania State Police based out of Mansfield.
